Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Opening Barista to join our team. This role is critical to setting the tone for the day by ensuring the store is fully prepared for morning operations and delivering exceptional customer service from the moment we open.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and open the store independently or with a small team
- Prepare and brew coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to PJ’s standards
- Set up the store for daily operations (brewing, stocking, pastry display, cleanliness)
- Ensure all equipment is operational and ready for peak morning hours
- Provide fast, friendly, and accurate service to customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front and back of house
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support team members during morning rush periods
Schedule Requirements
- Monday – Friday: Must be available to arrive by 5:00 AM
- Weekends: Must be available to arrive by 5:30 AM
- Flexibility to work both weekdays and some weekends is required
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation and strong punctuality required
- Ability to work early morning shifts consistently
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous barista or food service experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
